Google’s New Algorithm

April 21st, 2015  |  Published in Uncategorized

Today Google has launched the most significant Google algorithm change in the last decade. This update requires users to have responsive* websites in order to show in search results on mobile devices. Is your site mobile friendly?  Test your site for free here on Google to see if your site is considered mobile friendly.

*A responsive site refers to a site that “responds” when viewed on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets adjusting the screen size for viewing horizontal and vertical.

Everyone Has A Story! Use Yours as a Marketing Technique.

July 5th, 2013  |  Published in Articles

my story revisedStorytelling is a huge aspect of persuasive communication; your story makes you more relatable and encourages people to connect with you. Studies show when readers (or viewers of a video) hear a company’s history, they become emotionally invested and desire to see that company succeed. Storytelling is a simple, yet frequently overlooked, marketing technique.

Advertising is everywhere and your potential clients are constantly being bombarded with the latest products and services from one company or another. What makes a company stand out? Nobody likes to be sold to, but people will respond to a personal story. As a company, it is good to know your own story for it will allow you to better understand who you are, remind you where you came from, define your strengths and weaknesses, and where your character comes from. This is beneficial not only for your company but for your clients.

So how do you tell your story? Take some time to write down your company’s stories; funny or interesting things, your company’s origin, lives changed through your company  – whether they are employees or customers – and find ways to inspire, encourage and connect to your customers by telling these stories.  Social media such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Youtube, and Instagram make it easier than ever for you to get you stories out there! Now, blog them, video tape them – get them out so your target audience will see them!

Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Use Video in Marketing

June 14th, 2013  |  Published in Articles

Video marketing has become an essential aspect to growing your business. The statistics that emphasize the importance of including videos in your marketing endeavors are numerous. Here are a few that stand out:

1) 45.4% -The percentage of internet users who view at least one video per month.

2) 32.2 -The average amount of videos a user is exposed to in a month, which increases the chance of your marketing message being seen.

3) 100 Million -The amount of people that watch an online video each day. Now of course some of those videos feature a goofy kid or a llama, but a lot of people are looking for “how to” videos, or looking for advice. And many of them are looking to buy a service or a product.

4) 75% -The percentage of executives that told Forbes that they watch work-related videos at least once a week.

5) 65% – the percentage of those who visit the marketer’s website after viewing the video

6) 16 minutes and 49 seconds -The average time an internet user spends watching online video ads every month.

7) 403% -Emails that featured videos received four times the amount of inquiries compared to those without videos.

8) 59% -To quote Forbes Insight, this is the percentage of senior executives who would prefer watching a video rather than reading text. Nearly 65% click through the video, to visit the vendor website. About 50% of them look for more information, and 45% contact a supplier after viewing an online video ad.

9) 96% -According to the Implix email marketing survey in 2010, this is the percent increase in the click-through rate of introductory emails that included a video.

10) 51% -The increase in percentage of subscriber-to-lead conversion rates. One online marketer reported a 51% increase in subscriber-to-lead conversion rates when video was included in an email marketing campaign.

Worried about the cost of video?  Don’t be!  ArtForm’s Internet Media Division can work with your budget and develop a marketing strategy to get your business growing!

Takeaway: Video marketing helps increase sale rates and leads. Those who don’t use video marketing are continuously losing customers to those who do.

Strategic Plan – Do Something!

April 17th, 2013  |  Published in Articles, Services

The Plan Begins

I recently saw a sign that read, “We have a Strategic Plan, It’s Called Doing Things”.  It made me smile and consider.  I have been involved in marketing for over 20 years and have had numerous conversations with very creative people who had fabulous ideas – but never acted on them.  Why is that?  Why do we hesitate to act?

Many of us just need to have reassurance that our idea is a good one.  Sometimes we need to know how to take our idea to the next step. Many of us are just plain afraid of failure.

Have you ever had an idea you did not act on only to see someone else become successful with “your” idea.  Some people just seem to know how to turn thoughts into actions.  Be willing to fail and try again.  It is the backbone of many success stories from Thomas Edison to Michael Jordan.

Thomas Edison was told by a teacher that “he is too stupid to learn anything”, was fired from his first two jobs and tried over 1,000 times to invent a working light bulb.  Of course he was eventual successful having perservered for a 1001 times.

Consider Henry Ford.  His early businesss ventures left him broke five times before founding the successful Ford Motor Company.

Or Aiko Mortia who you may not have heard of but you are probably familiar with his company, Sony.  His first product was a rice cooker that only seemed to burn rice rather than cook it.  It sold less than 100 units.  But he and his partners did not give up and formed what is now a multi-billion dollar company.

Or even Walt Disney who was fired from a newspaper job because he “lacked immagination and had no good ideas.”  Can you imagine the temptation to give up after hearing that?  But his name is now a household word in almost every country around the globe.

Or Michael Jordan who was actually cut from his high school baskeball team.  He stated, “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Whatever your hesitancy is, talk to someone about it.  Get the ball rolling.  Do something!  You will feel better when you do!
